FAQ

What is Arresting ADHD?

Arresting ADHD was developed as a result of my journey to manage my son’s ADHD symptoms in a natural way, rather than with medications.

It took a good three years, trialling diets before we found an approach that worked for him.

Looking back on our journey, I wished there was one place where I could have gone to get ALL of the information.

Arresting ADHD will be that place. It is the platform from which I share our journey and what we have learned, in addition to further research on the topic of Natural ADHD remedies.

Why ‘Arresting’ ADHD?

The definition of ‘Arrest’ is to stop, slow down, seize, catch hold of… and in a medical sense, to stop or control the progression of disease.

I personally believe that we can control the symptoms of ADHD through dietary changes and other non-pharmaceutical methods.

We can capture those symptoms, arrest them, and hold them hostage.

It is important to mention that it is not a cure. If we revert to old eating habits, for example, the symptoms are likely to return.

Does my child have to have ADHD to benefit from this page?

No!

Concentration, Focus, Distractibility, Motivation, Impulsivity, Hyperactivity…

These are all things that children have to learn to deal with, but for our ADHD kiddos, they are a bigger challenge and we have to take greater steps to help the learn.

Many of the posts on Arresting ADHD can also be helpful for children who do not have an ADHD diagnosis.

Where should I start?

Choosing whole foods, and reducing processed foods is a great place to start.

Check out The ultimate guide to helping children make healthy food choices to get started.

Do you have your own recipes?

In short, no.

Personally, while I am still studying, I don’t have the budget or the time to create and trial recipes.
